General Summary:

The primary responsibility of the Global Forwarding Agent is to assist with the booking and tracking of global forwarding shipments. This person must be willing to work in a fast paced operation, be flexible to changing work hours, and maintain a drive to succeed.


Essential Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Answer telephone calls with strong emphasis on customer care
  • Communicate directly with clients, agents, and overseas partners via phone and email
  • Assist with quoting, pricing, and fulfillment of orders for presentation to customers
  • Prepare and create documentation for GFF shipments
  • Coordinate with team members to ensure collaborative environment
  • Track and trace, update milestones, and distribute data accordingly
  • Understand and execute Corporate SOP’s


Required Education, Experience, Certification, Licenses, Registration:

  • High school diploma or equivalent required
  • Bachelor’s degree preferred
  • Previous forwarding experience in a forwarder or call center environment (2 years preferred)
  • Preferred experience in at least 2 of the following: domestic air, international air, and ocean operations


Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities:

  • Detailed, organized, embraces structure and procedures
  • Strong customer service and telephone skills
  • Must be motivated to learn all aspects of forwarding (domestic and international)
  • Strong team player with leadership qualities
  • Multi lingual a plus but not necessary
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft office products
  • Strong written and oral communication skills
  • Team player with positive attitude and individual initiative
  • Problem solving and analytical skills
  • Strong prioritization skills and a high level of organization
  • Strong active listening skills
  • Schedule flexibility required; this position handles time sensitive processes which may extend work hours on occasion in accordance with Company policy


Job Development: As this role is continuously evolving, the expectations to be considered for advancement are as follows:

  • DG Certified, fully versed and capable in IATA DG Regulations and application
  • Primary employee assigned to key customers and their SOP
  • Proven ability to communicate with customers, agents, and partners
  • Demonstrated ability and desire to learn international/domestic forwarding
  • TSA trained and fully aware of all compliance requirements
