General Summary:

The Truck Recruiter II's primary responsibility is to establish relationships and to champion the values and opportunities of the ArcBest Panther brand to potential Owner Operators by utilizing inbound and outbound sales call techniques and best practices.


Essential Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Cultivate and drive Owner Operator fleet growth
  • Lead generation and development
  • Inbound and outbound call campaigns, including cold calling
  • Industry expert in all of Panther’s, and their competitor’s, qualifications and recruitment processes
  • Maintain and service a roster of Owners Operators to maximize the profitability and encourage growth of the fleet
  • Work both individual and as a team to achieve weekly/monthly/quarterly recruiting and retention goals
  • Attend both local and national truck shows and workshops to promote Panther’s brand image and to recruit new drivers.
  • Run and analyze prospective Owner Operator’s motor vehicle records, criminal history, and previous employment history against Panther’s safety qualifications to pre-qualify all candidates.
  • Manage the assigned fleet to promote growth.


Required Education, Experience, Certification, Licenses, Registration:

  • High School diploma or equivalent required
  • Bachelor’s degree in a business related field preferred
  • 3+ years of recruiting/sales experience
  • 3+ years of transportation industry experience
  • Experience with CRM tools (Tenstreet a plus)
  • Must meet and exceed the recruiting production levels and phone stat requirements of a Truck Recruiter I


Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities:

  • Knowledge and compliance of all DOT and CSA2010 rules and regulations pertaining to the qualifications of Owner Operators.
  • Competent with Microsoft Office products, including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, etc.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
  • “Can do” attitude with a “will do” work ethic
  • Ability to present and maintain a positive corporate image in a fast paced environment
  • Transportation industry knowledge


Work Environment:

  • This is a corporate office environment with multiple workstations. Each employee will have his/her own workstation.
